Abundance by Peter H. Diamandis and Steven Kotler

Wow, what an interesting read.

This was a gift from my youngest daughter and was quite an engrossing read. I keep up to date with various technology journals and blogs and the overriding theme tends to be one of pessimism. The dangers of AI, the potential of mass unemployment and misuse of technology.

Abundance, as suggested by it’s name, takes a more positive, in depth look, at the world’s major problems and the technologies being investigated that could provide solutions. It also led me to look into a number of other developments, one that really caught my eye was SOLE – definitely worth watching the TED Talk by Sugata Mitra – Build a School in the Cloud.

Even with all the technology, it isn’t a heavy read, so grab yourself a copy from Amazon.
