Lately..

I have been pondering some of those big questions.

You know.

The sort of thing that has puzzled, intrigued and eluded man since we started thinking, walking, philosophizing and generally wondering why we are here, where do we go when we die, what is consciousness.

Some current theories from studies of the quantum world, suggest a very zen like perspective. That the “real world” would not exist if it weren’t for conscious thought. That when we die, the light that those with near death experiences report, is our consciousness, moving from the physical body, back to where it came from, other dimensions, the universe, that it never really dies. That can be a comforting thought, though it is difficult to wrap your brain around.

It seems a better theory than that of religion. Recently I read that good people do good things. Bad people do bad things. Only religion can make good people do bad things.

Like most sweeping statements it is a generalization, but a useful one that eludes to all the atrocities committed in the name of God, or whatever deity is currently being worshiped.

Back to us, consciousness, or the soul if you prefer.

I would like to believe the quantum theorists. It is comforting. For those we have lost. For those we will loose. That eventually we all return, to another place, another plane of existence.

Life is but a dream. Except when it is a bit of a nightmare!
