My daily morning routine includes catching up with various blogs as my bleary eyed body slowly decides to rejoin the human race. This rejoining process takes a little while. During that time, the cat is suddenly my best friend. She won’t leave me alone because it’s feeding time at the zoo. I resist, turf her out the back door and ignore her wailing at the window for at least a few minutes until I relent and feed her.
My first “blog fix” is normally Alsanda’s Humorous Dispassionate. It never fails to make me chuckle a little, which is a nice start to the day. While I am reading, I start to think about my blog entry for the day. And this Hatey-Hate-Hate article provided alot of food for thought. Thanks to Alien Red Queen for reblogging, which isn’t a WordPress function I am particularly fond of, but in this instance, I am glad it was put to good use.
Love and hate are two sides of the same coin. And we as a species tend to be judgemental about those around us. I read a blog about evolution and I got to thinking, maybe we will evolve our way out of hate. On reflection, I don’t think so. Depth of feeling and emotion is a part of us. Sometimes a beautiful part of us. Sometimes an ugly part of us. Can we have love without hate. I don’t think so. What we can do is teach our kids from a young age that tolerance, not judgement, is the way to go.
I’d like to write something prophetic, deep and meaningful here. Actually though, I think we all just learn to get along.
Thoughtful start for the day, man! Our cats dictate our lives too, but we love ’em. Thanks for visiting my blog. I enjoyed the vintage car and motorcycle photos too, especially the motorcycles.
